The Cotoperí I, II, and III Photovoltaic Park, located in Guaymate, La Romana, Dominican Republic, is the largest of its kind in the Caribbean, with a total installed capacity of 162.6 MWp DC (direct current) and 172.26 MVA AC (alternating current). This project represents a key milestone in clean and renewable energy generation in the region.
The park was developed by Cotoperí Solar FV, a strategic alliance between Acciona Energía and Cotosolar Holding. Thanks to this initiative, 238,093 MWh of renewable energy will be generated annually—enough to supply thousands of Dominican households and avoid approximately 166,665 tons of carbon dioxide (CO₂) emissions each year.
The plant consists of 4,674 fixed-structure tables, utilizing 3V20H and 3V10H models designed to optimize solar production and withstand the region’s winds. All generated energy is channeled through a 195 MVA substation, with a voltage system of 34.5 kV / 138 kV, and a 500-meter high-voltage line, ensuring safe and efficient integration into the national electrical system.
